Jeff Davis, a candidate for Volusia County, Fla., Council, wants his nickname “AxTax” on the ballot, but the county’s elections supervisor says it’s a political slogan and she won’t allow it. Davis, touting evidence that he has always been known as AxTax, has filed a lawsuit to force the issue, according to the Daytona Beach News Journal. Elections Supervisor Ann McFall says a 1986 Division of Elections decision gives her the authority to reject his request.
