DC trying for seat in Congress

The sponsor of the latest effort to secure a seat in Congress for the District of Columbia says he thinks the proposal will pass, according to the Washington Post. U.S. Rep. Thomas M. Davis III, R-Va., said he plans to push the legislation through his Committee on Government Reform by next week and expects it to be made law. A House leadership aide said Davis’ bill has “not a shot whatsoever,” but D.C. residents say they are ready for representation on Capitol Hill.
