Officials in Laurel, Del., want to give up some green space to bring more businesses to the city’s downtown. The city wants to auction off four and a half acres, currently a grassy field used for July 4 celebrations, to the highest bidder who will put a commercial development there, according to The News Journal. The proposal to sell the land is expected to be made during an August city government meeting.
