A Chicago hearing officer has recommended that the city rehire a worker who had been fired for improperly getting truck-driving licenses for three other employees. The hearing officer says that the former employee, Gerry Sarussi, was following orders from other employees when he gave the three licenses for which they were not qualified, according to the Chicago Tribune. The three employees who received licenses were connected to former city Streets and Sanitation Commissioner Al Sanchez, and Sarussi said he gave them the licenses at Sanchez’s request.
