Officials in Bismarck, N.D., are trying to decide what to do next to improve the city’s civic center as part of a contract with a company that plans to build a high-rise hotel near the center. The city has a one-year agreement with Canad Inns with the stipulation that, for the company to consider building its hotel in 2008, the city must make improvements to the civic center, such as a 27,000-square-foot banquet hall and expansion of meeting rooms, according to The Bismarck Tribune. One member of the civic center advisory committee says he’s worried that the city still has much to do in 2007 to live up to its end of the agreement.
