Massachusetts governor taking over ‘Big Dig’ inspections

Inspectors continue to find problems with Boston’s “Big Dig” tunnel where a ceiling collapse killed a 38-year-old woman, and now Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has taken over safety inspections for the project.

Inspectors continue to find problems with Boston’s “Big Dig” tunnel where a ceiling collapse killed a 38-year-old woman, and now Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has taken over safety inspections for the project. Some officials also are calling for federal inspectors from the National Transportation Safety Board, according to The Boston Globe. Also, Moody’s Investor Services is considering downgrading the credit rating for the $14.6 billion project that already has gone over budget.
