Developers of an affordable housing project in Pitkin County, Colo., say confusion over the policy of the county’s housing authority may exclude six people from getting apartments in the development. The Aspen/Pitkin County Housing Authority usually requires potential buyers to work in the county for four years before they can qualify for priority treatment, according to the Aspen Daily News. The builders of the Obermeyer Place development say that, due to unclear language in the housing authority policy, they thought the time requirement was only one year and they want the authority to allow the six people to buy the affordable housing units.
