D.C. immigrants pay taxes

Washington Immigrants already paying taxes

Immigrants in the Washington area are paying their taxes on the same level as native-born Americans, according to a recent study. Though the study by Urban Institute also shows that illegal immigrants pay less in taxes than citizens, according to the Washington Post, they do still pay taxes. Nationwide 50 to 60 percent of illegal immigrants have taxes withheld from their paychecks while 40 to 50 percent are paid under the table. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/04/AR2006060400965.html
