South Carolina island residents fight incorporation

annexation efforts from nearby Charleston and Folly Beach, some residents of James Island, S.C., are trying to incorporate the community.

Besieged by annexation efforts from nearby Charleston and Folly Beach, some residents of James Island, S.C., are trying to incorporate the community. But a new group has risen saying incorporation of the island, which failed twice before, would be a waste of money and efforts to do so only encourage attempts at annexation, according to The Post and Courier.
