New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin says he has had to postpone some parts of the city’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina while he campaigns for reelection, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. During a televised debate with his rival, Louisiana Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, Nagin said he’s had to put off forming a financial-oversight structure and finding appointments for a national recovery committee because of the campaign.
