Mayor bemoans resignation of New York memorial chief

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says last week’s resignation of the chief executive of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation will only further complicate the troubled efforts to construct the memorial. Gretchen Dykstra resigned from the foundation on Friday as the controversy continued over the rising cost of the memorial, which is now almost $1 billion, according to The New York Times. Bloomberg has criticized the foundation for not focusing enough on fund raising. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/30/nyregion/30mayor.html
