Board closes meeting

Local officials and the city’s newspaper are concerned about a Wichita, Kan., museum board’s decision to close one of its meetings to the public. The Old Cowtown Museum receives about 60 percent of its $1.4 million budget from tax dollars, according to The Wichita Eagle. A Wichita councilmember and the chairman of the Sedgwick County Commission joined The Eagle in protesting the board’s decision to close its meeting to discuss a consultant’s study on the museum’s business plan. http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/14645089.htm
