Chicago corruption trial continues

Testimony continues in the federal trial of four former Chicago city officials accused of rigging city jobs to benefit political supporters of Mayor Richard Daley. In Monday’s testimony a retired deputy sewers commissioner told the court that one of Daley’s top aides pushed him to promote an incompetent worker who had campaigned in support of the mayor, according to the Chicago Tribune. Daley’s former patronage chief Robert Sorich and three other men are charged with fraud in the case. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0605230188may23,1,1130166.story
