Chicago alderman defends proposed 20 percent raise

A Chicago alderman says his fellow members of the city council and he deserve the 20 percent pay raise he has proposed. The proposal would pay an extra $20,000 to the city’s aldermen, who currently make up to $98,125, over the next four years, according to the Chicago Tribune. Critics say the raise is much more than what would be seen in the private sector. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-0605250118may25,1,7294922.story?coll=chi-news-hed
