With increasing pressure on cities and counties to shrink budgets, American City & County has announced a free online Local Government Summit. The Oct. 21 event features six Webinars that focus on practical tools, tactics and methods to overcome rising costs, increasing workloads and shrinking resources.

The Summit, which is sponsored by Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft, features “Top 7 Trends that will Transform Local Government — Options for the Future;” “Not Just a Trend: How Green is Your Government?;” “Government Business Trends that are Changing the Game;” “Nashville: From Worst to First — Infrastructure Optimization at Work;” “Improving Citizen Services through Technology;” and, “Are you Ready? Data Protection, Business Continuity and Disaster Preparedness.”

“Each issue of the magazine features communities that have dramatically improved the way they deliver services by changing the way they operate,” says Bill Wolpin, American City & County’s editorial director. “We’ve developed a series of educational Webinars that should help our local government community understand the trends and challenges that will shape their future and ways local leaders can address them.”
